It’s Just a Water Matter

It’s summer.

And along with that heat comes illnesses related to overheating. Some of them can cause you pain, unconsiousness and even death. They all have one thing in common, and that is dehydration.

Dehydration occurs when the body looses too much fluid without having it replenished. Or, when it is replenished with the WRONG type of fluids, like high acid load soda pop. It’s more common than you think and is estimated that MILLIONS of Americans live in a form of dehydration every day due to their underconsumption of water.

Damn Mosquitoes

Well, it’s finally gone from a cold spring right into summer. And that means hot, hot, HOT! And hot means,

MOSQUITOES!

Drat, I swear I can hear them at the door, sharpening their chompers, just waiting until I come out to feast.

What the heck do you do about them, especially if you live near a wetland?

Weirder Things Do Happen…

It’s been a several months since that freakish illness smacked me down out of the blue. My focus is better but my endurance waining. It’s been quite an ordeal. How do you go from excellent health to requiring emergency surgery because you cannot walk and are in excruciating pain?

It still gripes me a bit that we have no clue where it came from. But check this out…even something weirder just happened. I’ll explain.

Inspiration from Native Peoples

One of my favorite pictures is ‘White Man’s Moccasins’ by Lee Marmon - you usually find it at any Native Peoples Store. Or, you can find it at AllPosters.com

There are several others native themed pictures I like, including the photo of Sitting Bull. These were the faces of the west, of character, etched by the winds of time. In thinking about them and their way of life, I had often wondered if they were taught a code of proper conduct and decorum, something like our Ten Commandments.

The Case of the Dreaded Microwave and Your Food

They’ve made it into almost every home.

You can find them in many hotels.

The promise - hot food FAST.
But at what price?

I’ve long warned of the dangers of microwave cooking due to the havoc they reek with what little nutritional value is left in your food. It still amazes me that people now use these as their primary method of preparing a meal…and cannot remember when they last used their oven.

Scary.

Even scarier is the article I recently found about the dangers of microwave ovens, written by Anthony Wayne and Lawrence Newell. It is food for thought.

I’ve included the article as a pdf file, as well as reproduced it below. You can download the article by clicking here.

And now for the article, folks…

One of the BEST Ways Left to Cool Off

As the song goes:

“Baby it’s HOT outside…” - or something like that.

One of America’s favorite ways of cooling down is…

Ice Cream!

Yep…and it doesn’t matter what the naysaying, calorie loathing, media hyping, ‘you’re too fat’ bunch say
